Curriculum vitae

Laureata in Ingegneria Chimica presso l’Università di Padova nel 1989 con un Curriculum in Scienza dei Materiali ottiene nel 1990 una borsa di studio per un’attività di ricerca sui rivestimenti thermal spray presso il Centro Sviluppo Materiali, Roma. Dal 1990 è Funzionario Tecnico, poi Ricercatore confermato  (2000) e infine Professore Associato (2005) presso La Sapienza. Nel 2017 ha conseguito l'Abilitazione scientifica nazionale alla I fascia, Settore Concorsuale 09/D1: Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali.

Nel 1993 è invitata quale Visiting Research Engineer presso il Center for Plasma Processing of Materials della Drexel University, Philadelphia USA, dove attiva una duratura collaborazione nel campo dei rivestimenti thermal spray ottenuti a partire da precursori SHS (self propagating high temperature synthesis). A partire dal 1990 partecipa e coordina numerosi progetti di ricerca nel campo della Scienza e Tecnologia dei Materiali, con particolare riferimento all’ingegneria delle superfici, alle tecniche di indagine non distruttiva per i manufatti artistici in metallo, ai materiali ceramici cellulari. La sua attività di ricerca include lo studio e l’ottimizzazione di materiali e rivestimenti protettivi per la corrosione, l’usura e la protezione termica. Le principali collaborazioni internazionali includono l’Istituto di Metallurgia Baikov di Mosca, il CPPM della Drexel University, la School of Metallurgy and Materials Science della Central University of Venezuela, Exotherm Corporation (USA) e Thales Alenia Space.

Ha svolto attività di valutazione per il MIUR (Progetti PON Ricerca e Competitività) e per numerosi altri enti italiani e stranieri, ed è stato membro del Gruppo Esperti per la Valutazione ANVUR (GEV 09) per la VQR 2004-2010.

Dal 2017 è Membro del Comitato direttivo del Consorzio CISTeC (Centro di Ricerca in Scienza e Tecnica per la Conservazione del Patrimonio Storico-Architettonico), Università “La Sapienza”. Dal 2015 è Componente della “Commissione per le Funicolari Aeree e Terrestri”, Ministero dei Trasporti e delle Infrastrutture.

E' stata dal 2011 al 2017 membro del Nucleo di Valutazione (poi Comitato di Monitoraggio) della Facoltà di Ingegneria Civile e Industriale. Dal 2017 è  Membro della Giunta del Consiglio d’Area di Ingegneria Chimica. Dal 2019 è Membro della Giunta del Consiglio di Diaprtimento di Ingegneria Chimica Materiali Ambiente.

La sua attività didattica è svolta nell’ambito delle lauree (triennale e magistrale) in Ingegneria Chimica. E’ stata componente (e responsabile per il Dip. ICMA) del Collegio di Dottorato in Ingegneria Elettrica, dei Materiali e delle Nanotecnologie.

E’ autore di oltre 100 pubblicazioni scientifiche di cui 54 su riviste internazionali indicizzate e oltre 30 su Atti di Congresso Internazionali con revisione scientifica.
